In the intimate setting of their shared bed, one woman tells another about an interrupted rendezvous in Tehran. Between their embraces, tender words, and the unfolding story, hazy glimpses of bodies and movements merge with text superimposed over archival images from Iranian films. Desire coexists not only with the obstructed memory of the event, but also with the warm, dreamlike gentleness of these visions of subtle, tender bodily contact. The silence of the narration appearing on screen directs our attention to the softly intimate whispers shared by the women. (AJL)
