Nine Easy Dances, or nine short vignettes of family life suffused with laughter and tenderness. Like a memory box strewn across the floor, we are invited into a uniquely intimate space where bodies depict what words alone cannot. The gentleness of these choreographed movements is punctuated by the chaos of filming and the unknowns of an aging household. But in this controlled slide, director and dancer Nora Rosenthal narrates and steers her own course, where every problem finds its solution in creativity and humour, and hope remains that each movement will offer a temporary respite from the uncertain future ahead of her.
