The Montreal International Documentary Festival
is back for its 22nd edition
From November 14 to 24, festivalgoers will see films documenting today’s world, as well as bold works that reinvent the language of documentary. The complete program for the 2019 festival will be announced on Wednesday, October 23.
New visual identity
The RIDM is proud to present a strong, unique image for its 22nd edition. Designed by Montreal-based studio Caserne, this year’s signature is built on the RIDM’s slogan Where All Stories Meet. To achieve this, Caserne chose an eclectic group of objects from a variety of countries, eras and contexts and arranged them harmoniously. These multiple shapes convey a specific meaning – where all stories meet.
To accompany the poster and the unique image it gives the festival, Caserne made a short promotional video that takes us to the heart of the event’s visual identity.
Headquarters
For the third year in a row, the RIDM will have its headquarters in the heart of the Quartier Latin, at the Cinémathèque québécoise. The festival’s hub includes two theatres, the UXdoc space for interactive works as well as the main box office and venues for social activities and parties. Once again this year, the RIDM will work with Kermesse and Hue, a Montreal-based event design firms, which will design the headquarters’ decor and furnishings.
As the place where all stories meet, the RIDM’s headquarters will also host cultural, artistic and festive gatherings.
