The Echo Tatiana Huezo

Filmmaker Tatiana Huezo (Tempestad, Special Jury Mention in the International Feature Competition at RIDM 2016) offers a sensitive immersion in the Mexican village of El Eco. Resulting from the filmmaker's extended presence in this community, the sympathetic camera, usually positioned at the height of a child, succeeds in capturing the naturalness of a busy day. Schoolwork, domestic and agricultural chores, recreation and various forms of learning, punctuated by nature and traditions, depict a rural reality, outlining some of the country's economic and social issues. Aspirations, sometimes shattered, testify to a sincere intergenerational respect, as well as a willingness to forge one's own path. (HSB)
