We are proud to unveil a a visual identity that's as vibrant as ever for the 26th edition of the RIDM, to be held from November 15 to 26, 2023.
For a second consecutive year, graphic designer Juliette Moal was invited to create the festival’s visual signature. Building on the concept she initiated in 2022, which was inspired by the imagery of VHS cases and 1990s television, Juliette has constructed a delightfully kinetic universe that’s both retro and pop. The use of multiple hues and the sheer depth of the visuals reflect the broad range of topics explored in documentaries throughout the festival.
"With this new identity, we wanted to remain visually consistent with the previous edition of RIDM, while adding a touch of novelty," explained Marc Gauthier, RIDM’s Executive Director. "The poster’s bright, vibrant colours radiate energy and immediately command our attention. The bold colour combination creates a dynamic and engaging feel, mirroring the diversity and vitality of our programming. Juliette Moal’s work is a testament to her visual mastery and keen understanding of the RIDM spirit. The entire team extends its sincere gratitude to Juliette for her exceptional contribution to RIDM’s image," added Gauthier.
Forum RIDM presented by Netflix
As for Forum RIDM, a not-to-be-missed professional rendezvous already in its 19th year of existence, graphic designer Kaïla Curcio has overseen the implementation of Juliette Moal’s visual signature. It will take place from November 17 to 22, 2023.
Headquarters
True to form, the Cinémathèque québécoise will once again serve as RIDM’s headquarters. It will operate as a gathering spot where festivalgoers can attend screenings, take part in a wide range of activities, and dance the nights away.
RIDM and Forum RIDM’s full program will be unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday, October 25 at 10 a.m. and published simultaneously online.
