Many of the nonfiction films produced during the Syrian revolution document private histories, depicting familial, domestic, and intergenerational bonds during the war. This panel provides a space for the filmmakers to reflect on the making and afterlives of their films Coma (2015) and Little Palestine, Diary of a Siege (2021), on the affective dimensions of dislocation and exile, and how nonfiction cinema can offer virtual worlds to sustain cultural imaginaries across the diaspora.
