Recipients of grants and support for the 16th edition

 

Montreal, Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 - The 16th edition of Forum RIDM concluded on Thursday, November 19. This year’s all-online format gave participants the opportunity to take part in pitch and networking activities, discussions and workshops. Several participants were awarded grants and support in the form of services to help them move their documentary projects forward.

For the 7th edition of the Talent Lab, presented by NETFLIX, four forms of support were awarded to the following francophone and anglophone participants: 

BOURSE CANAL D, a $10,000 development grant presented by Canal D, went to Marianne Métivier for her project Back Home.

OFFICE NATIONAL DU FILM DU CANADA (ONFSUPPORT, presented by the NFB’s French-language documentary studio, will provide $9,000 in development support to Marie-Kristine Petiquay for her project Aniskenamakewin (Transmission).

NATIONAL FILM BOARD OF CANADA (NFBSUPPORT, presented by the English-language NFB studio – Quebec/Atlantic regions, will provide $5,000 in development support to Ashley Da-Lê Duong for her project Directions for Monarchs.

CINEGROUND SUPPORT, a $5,000 postproduction services package presented by CineGround, was awarded to Ayana O’Shun for her project Le mythe de la femme noire.

In addition, a place in the Talent Lab was awarded to Joudy Hilal, the winner of the Regard sur Montréal 2019 residency hosted by the Conseil des arts de Montréal.

This year, for the first time, a new grant was presented at Forum RIDM, aimed at supporting production in Quebec’s remote regions:

THE BOURSE DE DÉVELOPPEMENT DE PROJET EN RÉGION, presented by FranC Doc, with a value of $2,000 ($1,000 in financial support for writing and $1,000 in development support) went to Laurence Lemaire.

This year’s Forum RIDM was a great success thanks to the contributions of the participants and the industry experts who answered the call once again, generously sharing their knowledge.
