The Rough Cut Lab call for projects is launched
Montreal, Monday, September 28, 2020 - Today the Forum RIDM launches the online sale of accreditations for the One-on-One Pitches and takes the opportunity to announce the arrival of influential international decision-makers. The Forum has also opened its call for projects Rough Cut Lab.
ACCREDITATIONS ON SALE FOR THE 2020 ONE-ON-ONE PITCH MEETINGS
Accreditations are open from September 28 to October 21, 2020.
The One-on-One Pitches, which will take place on November 12 and 13, as part of the 16th edition of the RIDM Professional Forum will take place virtually this year. They will consist of 15-minute one-on-one meetings between producers, directors and industry representatives - public and private broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, festival programmers, institutions, fund representatives and other consultants. A unique opportunity to forge partnerships and give birth to new projects. In 2020, about 60 decision-makers and experts from here and abroad will be present for this connected edition.
Among the international industry representatives: WINDROSE, DOK.FEST MUNICH, AL JAZEERA MEDIA NETWORK, SHEFFIELD DOC/FEST, FIELD OF VISION and FRANCE TELEVISIONS.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: ROUGH CUT LAB
The call is open from September 16 to October 12, 2020.
The Forum RIDM is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for its Rough Cut Lab, which will take place on November 17, as part of the 16h edition of the Forum RIDM.
For the second year, any filmmaker with a project in an advanced editing stage (minimum 65 minutes edited) who wishes to present their film to a panel of internationally renowned experts will be able to submit a proposal to the Rough Cut Lab. The selected project will be screened in its entirety in the presence of the team, panelists and a limited audience with Forum RIDM accreditation. The discussion will revolve around the issues of creative editing, festival strategy and marketing at this crucial stage in the life of a project. The panel includes festival programmers, distribution and broadcast companies, as well as experienced editors.
Objectives of the activity :
- To benefit from a critical feedback on the project
- Define the identity and positioning of a film in a context of international distribution
- Develop marketing strategies
- Stimulate interest in the project among local and international buyers
- Develop privileged relationships between a local filmmaker and local experts
