Call for Projects Cuban Hat Pitch and Docunexion Quebec-Mexico

Montreal, August 15, 2016 – Doc Circuit Montréal’s (DCM) 12th edition is gearing up for November, and is looking for projects for its four pitch competitions: the call for EURODOC Pitch and the One-on-One For Emerging Filmmakers opened last week; and today we announce the call for the Cuban Hat Pitch (all formats) and Docunexion Québec-Mexico. Canadian and Quebec-based digital creators and filmmakers are invited to submit their documentary projects by September 15 to be considered for these four pitching events.

CUBAN HAT PITCH

Doc Circuit Montréal is proud to announce the return of the Cuban Hat Pitch for a sixth year in a row, in collaboration with the Montreal cooperative MAKILA. During DCM’s 12th edition, five projects will be invited to pitch before our live audience and the prestigious members of the Cuban Hat jury. Filmmakers and digital creators are invited to submit their unfinished documentary projects - we are open to all formats, including interactive.

New this year, the Cuban Hat Pitch will give away the Docunexion Québec-France Award to a Québec creator for an interactive project. The creator will have the chance to attend Sunny Side of the Doc in 2017 and participate in their Interactive Pitch.

This year, thanks to generous contributions from our sponsors and public, we have already raised $40,000 in services and prizes to support the winners in the completion of their projects. Prizes are added every day until the pitch!
