Tonight – Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m.


Montreal, Friday, November 18, 2016 – Following the announcement of the passing of Canadian poet, novelist and singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen at the age of 82, the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) will present, in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), a tribute to the legendary artist. The documentary Ladies and Gentlemen… Mr. Leonard Cohenby Donald Brittainand Don Owen will be screened on tonight Friday November 18 at 7 p.m. at RIDM Headquarters  (3450, St. Urbain Street).

 

The film, an NFB production made in 1965, is a casual portrait of poet, novelist and singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen. We see him reading his poetry for a rapt audience, alone at home, or socializing with family and friends. 

 

This special screening will be free of charge for festivalgoers, the general public and fans of the uniquely energetic artist. A limited number of seats will be available.

The 19th edition of the RIDM will take place from November 10 to 20, 2016 

at Cinéma du Parc, Cinémathèque québécoise, Pavillon Judith-Jasmin, Concordia University and RIDM Headquarters  (3450, St. Urbain Street).
